Psychometric-based recruitment systems are becoming increasingly popular globally. These assessments measure candidates’ mental capabilities, intelligence levels, attitudes, personality traits, decision-making abilities, and other essential skills. They provide insights into a candidate’s overall aptitude and attitude, going beyond academic qualifications, technical knowledge, and conventional interviews.
The combination of cognitive assessment, personality profiling, and structured behavioral evaluation can provide decision-makers with a more comprehensive understanding of a candidate’s suitability and development potential.
Depending on the role, structured assessments can provide additional insights into the following areas:
- Cognitive ability and problem-solving
- Analytical and logical reasoning
- Situational awareness
- Decision-making and judgement
- Personality and behavioral attributes
- Emotional stability and resilience
- Communication and interpersonal orientation
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Professional attitude
- Morale and ethics

Aviation-Specific Approach
For pilot recruitment, international aviation practices increasingly emphasize structured and competency-based selection. GPA’s assessment approach has been developed with reference to relevant international aviation guidance, including IATA Guidance Material and Best Practices, European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) guidance on pilot aptitude testing, and competency principles applicable to professional aviation roles.
Since 2016, Glorious Professional Academy has been working to introduce and strengthen aptitude- and competency-based recruitment practices in Bangladesh. GPA has provided assessment support within the country’s private aviation sector and has experience with airlines including US-Bangla Airlines, NOVOAIR, and Air Astra.
From 2022 onward, GPA further aligned its pilot assessment methodology with internationally recognized aviation aptitude-testing principles.
PSYCHOMETRIC TEST IN NOVO AIR
The Glorious Professional Academy has been engaged since 2017 to conduct psychometric assessments exclusively for pilot recruitment at Novo Air. The aptitude tests are administered in strict compliance with the IATA Guidelines 2019, ensuring adherence to internationally recognized standards and best practices in aviation personnel selection. The assessment framework, specifically developed for pilot evaluation, incorporates scientifically validated psychometric tools designed to measure cognitive abilities, decision-making capacity, situational awareness, personality traits, and overall aptitude essential for aviation professionals. This structured approach enables a comprehensive evaluation of candidates beyond their academic and technical qualifications. Over the years, the system has been consistently recognized by Novo Air as an effective, objective, and reliable method of identifying suitable candidates for pilot positions.

PSYCHOMETRIC TEST IN US BANGLA AIRLINES
The Glorious Professional Academy has been entrusted by US-Bangla Airlines with the conduct of Psychometric Test for Pilot recruitment in accordance with the IATA Guidelines 2019, ensuring adherence to internationally recognized standards of competency-based selection within the aviation industry. The assessment mechanism was originally introduced for the evaluation of pilot candidates. In response to evolving organizational requirements, its scope has since been broadened to encompass Student Pilots, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, and Cabin Crew in 2024. The system is structured to provide a comprehensive appraisal of candidates’ core competencies, including cognitive aptitude, decision-making ability, situational awareness and behavioral consistency.
